Franc Contreras

Award-winning nonfiction filmmaker and journalist Franc Gabriel Contreras was born in Tucson, Arizona, and has lived in Mexico City since 1996. His television and radio reports from Mexico, across Latin America, and the U.S. Southwest have reached audiences around the world through major international media outlets.

His extensive experience as a foreign correspondent covering important social and political issues in Mexico has inspired his work as a filmmaker. Through his documentaries, Contreras seeks to bring attention to lesser-known stories and foster greater awareness and a sense of justice among audiences.

Jimmy Hernández

Jamie “Jimmy” Hernandez is known across the global television and documentary film industry for his Emmy award-winning camera talents.  He is also an award-winning short film editor. Hernandez began his career in 1987 at the age of 19, working for network news programs from the United States. He has collaborated with the globally renowned broadcasters, including: ABC News, BBC documentaries, Bloomberg Television, CNN Spanish and English, NBC News, The History Channel, REI Italian television and Univision. In 2013, he began collaborating with Franc Contreras and the China Global Television Network. 

Dave Fonseca

Dave Fonseca is an associate producer and multidisciplinary filmmaker whose work combines documentary practice with an ongoing exploration of visual and narrative aesthetics. In his productions he is responsible for a wide range of key tasks, including booking interviews, assisting with budgets, scouting locations, and editing video and audio.

He worked with Franc on the award-winning short film Turn Back South as a sound recordist, field producer, and editor. The film won numerous film festivals awards across the Americas and Europe.

Fonseca holds a Master’s degree in Documentary Filmmaking from the University of Communication in Mexico, where his work has focused on the aesthetic possibilities of documentary storytelling and experimental narrative forms.
